## **VILLAGE OF RED HOOK RESOLUTION # - 2023 DATED: DECEMBER 11, 2023** A meeting of the Village of Red Hook was convened in public session at the Village Hall, 7467 South Broadway, Red Hook, NY on December 11, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Smythe. ## **RESOLUTION REGARDING ONE TIME ADDITIONAL LEAVE DAY TO SWITCH PAY WEEK TO END THURSDAY** WHEREAS clauses: -, the Police Department pay week currently ends on Thursday and the Highway Department and the Village employee pay week currently ends on Friday -; and WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that to improve operations and efficiency of Village operations, it is appropriate to make all Village employee pay weeks end together -; and WHEREAS, the Village Board has agreed that ending Thursday is the best day to end the pay week for all employees; and that it will implement a change in the pay week pursuant to this decision -; and WHEREAS, the Village Board understands that for the one pay period when the change is made, full time employees would have a paycheck with one day less of pay -; and WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of employment for certain employees of the Village of Red Hook Highway Department are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Parties ("CBA") -; and WHEREAS, the Highway Department's union (UPSEU) has agreed to the change in pay week ; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, clauses: -that the Village Board approves adding one additional personal leave day to Highway and non-union Village Full-Time employees employed on the date of the change as a one-time benefit that would be affected by the change; and be it further - RESOLVED, that the Village Board approves the use of this additional personal leave day to the paychecks of the Highway and non-union Village Full-Time employees in the pay period when the transition to the pay week ending on Thursday occurs -. RESOLVED that this Resolution shall not serve to create, or modify an existing, past practice or binding process that existed, if any, prior to the date of passage of this resolution -. RESOLVED that this resolution may not be used as evidence of an existing past practice or binding practice.
