RESOLVED
- The Board hereby adopts the Proposed Local Law as Local Law No. 2 of 2023 (the "Local Law")
- That the Village Clerk be and she hereby is directed to enter said Local Law in the minutes of this meeting and in the Village Code of the Village of Red Hook, to give due notice of the adoption of said Local Law to the Secretary of State of New York, and take all other actions as may be required by law

- WHEREAS, on May 25, 2023, a proposed form of a Local Law entitled "A Local Law to Regulate Animal Husbandry, Hens and Honeybees in the Village of Red Hook" (the "Proposed Local Law") was laid on the desks of the Village Board of Trustees
- WHEREAS, the Proposed Local Law would permit animal husbandry, hens and beekeeping as an accessory use to a residential use in the R10,000 and R20,000 Zoning Districts, subject to controls regulating the activity to minimize impacts to neighboring property owners
- WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 239‐m of the General Municipal Law, the Proposed Local Law was referred to the Dutchess County Department of Planning and Development which responded on May 24, 2023 that it was a matter of local concern
- WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing on the Proposed Local Law was held on June 12, 2023, during which all those who wished to speak were heard
- WHEREAS, in response to comments made during the public hearing on June 12, 2023, the Village Board of Trustees made minor edits to the Proposed Local Law during said meeting and continued the public hearing for an additional 10 days to June 22, 2023 to permit further comments on the Proposed Local Law
- WHEREAS, on April 27, 2023, the Village Board of Trustees classified the Proposed Local Law as a Type I action in accordance with the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act ("SEQRA")
- WHEREAS, on June 12, 2023, the Village Board of Trustees adopted a determination of significance, a negative declaration, determining that the Proposed Local Law would not result in any significant adverse environmental impacts
- WHEREAS, the duly noticed public hearing was closed on June 22, 2023, during which all those who wished to speak were heard
