Day-Care Facility Zoning Regulations — Local Law 3 of 2023
Local Law No. 3 of 2023, adopted August 14, 2023, amends zoning regulations to allow day-care facilities in the General Business and Gateway Business zoning districts and reduces regulatory barriers to opening new day-care facilities within the Village. A Negative Declaration was adopted finding no significant adverse environmental impacts.[14]
Neighborhood Mixed Use District Permitted Uses Clarification — Local Law 4 of 2023
Local Law No. 4 of 2023, adopted December 11, 2023, clarifies that residential, commercial, or mixed-uses are all permitted on a single lot within the Neighborhood Mixed Use (NMU) District. A Negative Declaration was adopted finding no significant adverse environmental impacts.[15]

Gateway Business District Creation — Local Law 2 of 2022
Local Law No. 2 of 2022, adopted February 14, 2022, amends the Official Zoning Map, creates the Gateway Business District (GWB), and makes other associated changes to the Zoning Law. The Board overrode the recommendations of the Dutchess County Department of Planning and Development regarding the proposed district, adopting a Negative Declaration finding no significant adverse environmental impacts.[12]
Zoning Map Typographical Corrections — Local Law 3 of 2022
Local Law No. 3 of 2022, adopted July 11, 2022, corrects typographical errors on the Official Zoning Map with respect to certain tax parcel numbers. The law also provides a definition for "salesroom or shops of a builder, contractor or artisan," a use already permitted in the Gateway Business District.[13]

Morgan's Cat Café qualifies as a permitted eating and drinking establishment use under Village Code, classified as a coffee shop/café with an incidental theme of promoting cat adoption. The ZBA determined the Zoning Enforcement Officer's contrary decision was incorrect.[6]
Official Zoning Map Amendment — Local Law 4 of 2016
Local Law No. 4 of 2016 amends the Official Zoning Map of the Village of Red Hook. A Negative Declaration was adopted finding no significant adverse environmental impacts, and no Draft Environmental Impact Statement is required.[7]

Drive-Through Setback Requirement
Drive-through facilities (Section 8) shall be located a minimum of 50 feet from a street or intersection of streets. Measurement begins at the right-of-way.[5]

Firehouse Lane NMU Zoning Reclassification
Zoning lots A, B, and C on Firehouse Lane are reclassified into the NMU (Neighborhood Mixed Use) zone. LC line revisions are to include a wetland overlay map reference for future consideration.[2]
Official Zoning Map — October 2012 Adoption
The official zoning map of the Village of Red Hook, dated October 4, 2012, is adopted as the authoritative zoning map, aligning zoning districts with existing property boundary lines. The original October 4, 2010 Negative Declaration is reaffirmed, and the map is filed in the Office of the Village Clerk.[3]

Zoning Review Committee — 2017 Moratorium-Period Establishment
A Zoning Review Committee consisting of Jay Trapp, Brent Kovalchik, and Ray Towle was established on December 21, 2017 to craft zoning regulations during a six-month moratorium on automotive service station expansion and building demolition in the General Business District, expiring June 11, 2018. Superseded by the ongoing committee continuation confirmed in October 2018.[9]

Zoning Review Committee — 2013 Appointments
David Pearson, Mark Mirando, George Beekman, and Erik Cuthell were appointed to the Zoning Review Committee with a mandate expiring December 31, 2013. This committee and its term have expired and were superseded by later committee compositions.[4]

Firehouse Lane Partial NMU Reclassification (Failed Motion)
A motion to combine only lots A and C on Firehouse Lane into the NMU zone while keeping lot B in the R-10,000 zone failed on a 2-3 vote on October 1, 2012. Superseded by the subsequent motion reclassifying all three lots into the NMU zone.[1]
