A water leak adjustment policy has been approved by the Board, allowing for adjustments to water bills in cases of qualifying leaks.[14]

Late Payment Penalties
A late penalty of 5% is assessed at 30 days past due, with an additional 5% assessed at 60 days past due, per the rate schedule adopted August 8, 2022.[12]
Pool Filling Rate — Removal
The previously established pool filling rate via hydrant has been removed from the current water rate schedule, effective August 8, 2022.[12]
Tapping Fees with Road and Sidewalk Cutting
The current water rate schedule, adopted August 8, 2022, includes revised tapping fees with additional charges for road and sidewalk cutting.[12]
LIHWAP Low-Income Water Assistance
The Village is authorized to accept and distribute water assistance payments to eligible low-income households through the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). The Mayor is directed to sign the required NYS forms to participate in the program.[11]
Residential Payment Plan for Past-Due Water Bills
The Village of Red Hook has adopted a Residential Payment Plan allowing residents who are past due on water payments to pay off their bills based on their individual financial circumstances.[13]

Last Scheduled Rate Increase Waiver
The last scheduled water rate increase under the 8-quarter program was forfeited in recognition of two Drinking Water Infrastructure Improvement Act grants totaling $2,280,000 awarded to the Village.[10]

Water General Service Fee
A general water service fee of $50.00 is established to reflect expenses incurred by the Village when providing water services.[9]

Water Charges as Lien on Real Property
Water charges and penalties thereon shall be a lien upon the real property upon which the water is used and may be collected in accordance with § 11-1118 of the Village Law of the State of New York.[5]

Water Sample to Lab Fee
The fee for sending a water sample to the lab is $45.00, effective June 1, 2011.[4]
Water Shut-Off Fee
The fee for a water shut-off is $50.00, effective June 1, 2011.[4]
Water Turn-On Fee
The fee for turning water on is $50.00, effective June 1, 2011.[4]
Water Line Location Fee
The fee for location of water lines is $50.00, effective June 1, 2011.[4]
Water Meter Read Fee
The fee for a water meter read is $25.00, effective June 1, 2011.[4]
Tapping Fees
New tapping fees are $2,500.00, or $3,000.00 if highway installation is required, effective June 1, 2011.[4]

The fee for turning water back on (reconnection) is $125.00.[2]
Hydrant Fill Charges — Pool Filling
Hydrant fill charges for pool filling are established as follows: $918.00 for 30,000 gallons, $750.00 for 24,000 gallons, $387.00 for 12,000 gallons, and $200.00 for 6,000 gallons.[2]

Water Rates Conversion — Cubic Feet to Gallons
A new rate schedule reflecting conversion from cubic feet to gallons was adopted, effective October 1, 2013, with a minimum charge of $45.00 for usage up to 5,610 gallons and tiered rates for higher usage. Superseded by the 2014 rate increase and subsequent schedules.[6]

Monthly Water Surcharge — Central Hudson Billing Error Recovery
A $5.00 monthly water surcharge was implemented for all water customers effective June 2011 billing to recover costs from Central Hudson's meter billing error on well pump electric meters. Superseded by the comprehensive rate schedule adopted in 2013 and 2014.[3]
