Village Green Committee 2026 Appointments
The Board has approved the Mayor's appointments to the Village Green Committee for 2026 (all terms ending 12/31/26): Trustee Frances Uku as Liaison; Tara Barrett as Chairperson; and Brenda Cagle, Jim Cashen, Joy Glass, Kevin Joseph McGinnis, and David Pearson as members.[20]
Village Green Committee 2026 Meeting Schedule
Village Green Committee meetings for 2026 are scheduled for 1/15/26, 4/16/26, 7/16/26, and 9/17/26 at 6pm at Village Hall.[20]
Wetland Rehabilitation and Vitalization Committee Establishment
The Wetland Rehabilitation and Vitalization Committee is created to oversee rehabilitation of the Massonneau Wetland and other Village wetlands. Members are appointed by the mayor and approved by the Board; the Committee must be made up of a majority of Village residents; members serve two (2) year terms; there shall be a minimum of three and a maximum of ten members.[21]
Wetland Committee Board Liaison
A Board member, appointed by the mayor, will serve as liaison to the Board and is responsible for reporting on the actions of the Wetland Rehabilitation and Vitalization Committee.[21]
Wetland Committee Meeting Guidelines
Wetland Committee meetings shall be open to the public when a quorum is present. Agendas and minutes shall be kept and filed with the Village Clerk. All meetings shall be posted at least one week in advance on the Village website. A virtual option may be made available unless the meeting is outside.[21]
Wetland Committee Powers and Duties
The Committee is initially charged with focusing on the Massonneau Wetland, understanding the DEC easement conditions, developing a plan for assessing the wetland's condition, identifying possible funding sources, and ultimately providing the Village Board with an actionable plan. Future wetland projects may be presented and approved by the Board.[21]

The Board approved the following mayoral appointments to the Wetland Rehabilitation and Vitalization Committee, each for a two-year term ending April 3, 2028: Zoe Evans (Town resident), Michelle Gluck (Village resident), Nicholas Hamilton (Village resident), Amanda Sandor (Town resident), Kelsa Shanley (Village resident), and Cat Viega (Village resident).[23]
Pedestrian Advocacy Committee Establishment
The Pedestrian Advocacy Committee is created to advise the Village Board on pedestrian safety and infrastructure improvements. Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board; the Committee must be made up of a majority of Village residents; members serve two (2) year terms; there shall be a minimum of three and a maximum of ten members.[22]

Pedestrian Advocacy Committee Powers and Duties
The Committee is charged with identifying and prioritizing non-motorized transportation projects, creating a public awareness and education plan, advising the Board on pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, assisting with grant funding applications, creating a recommended process for approving speed hump requests and speed trailer placement, and assisting with the School Speed Zone and 25 mph Village speed limit projects.[22]
Pedestrian Advocacy Committee 2026 Member Appointments
The Board approved the following mayoral appointments to the Pedestrian Advocacy Committee, each for a two-year term ending April 3, 2028: Adam Aronson (Fraleigh St.), Patrick Grizzard (Elizabeth St.), Nevill Smythe (Park Ave.), Sara Croft (Hamilton Dr.), Chuck Acker (W Market St.), and David Pearson (Park Ave.). Deputy Mayor Melkorka Kjarval serves as Board Liaison.[24]

Village Green Committee Authorization
The Village Green Committee is authorized under Chapter 179 of the Village Code to develop and administer the Community Forestry Program in collaboration with the DPW Foreman. The Committee consists of three appointed officers and additional members, all of whom must be Village residents, with a Board liaison appointed by the mayor.[16]
Village Green Committee Member Terms
Officers and members of the Village Green Committee serve one (1) year terms, not subject to term limits.[16]
Village Green Committee Meeting Requirements
All Village Green Committee meetings shall be open to the public when a quorum is present. Agendas and minutes shall be kept and filed with the Village Clerk, and meetings shall be posted at least one week in advance. A virtual attendance option shall be made available except for outdoor meetings.[16]
Village Green Committee Community Forestry Budget
The Village will set aside a budget of at least $2 per capita for implementation of the Community Forestry Program.[16]
Village Green Committee Powers and Duties
The Village Green Committee is charged with advising the Board on recommended adjustments, organizing the annual Arbor Day observance, maintaining the tree inventory, adhering to Tree City USA guidelines, coordinating bench donations, and recommending additional projects.[16]
Events Committee Establishment
The Events Committee is established to facilitate and encourage public events in the Village through equitable and fair review of event permit applications. Members are appointed by the mayor and approved by the Board, and all must be Village residents.[17]

Events Committee members serve two (2) year terms with a minimum of two (2) members.[17]

Events Committee Meeting Guidelines
Permit review meetings of the Events Committee are not open to the public; however, their outcomes will be presented to the Village Board. Minutes of all public meetings shall be kept and filed with the Village Clerk. Non-permit review meeting schedules shall be posted at least one week in advance on the Village website where possible.[17]
Events Committee Powers and Duties
The Events Committee is charged with advising the Village Board on the Village Events Permit Application and Process, ensuring the agreed-upon process is followed, and having a Committee member meet with the mayor and applicant(s) after initial review of each permit application.[17]
Events Committee 2025 Appointments
The Board approved the Mayor's appointments to the Events Committee for terms ending 4/5/27: Karen Smythe and Amy Smith as members, with Amy Smith also serving as liaison.[18]
Library Board — Grace Kachigian Appointment
Grace Kachigian is appointed to a 5-year term on the Red Hook Public Library Board of Trustees, expiring April 2030.[19]
