Sawkill Watershed Community
The Sawkill Watershed Community met for the first time in‐person since the pandemic in the Red Hook Town Hall on May 16. In attendance were representatives from Bard and their Community Science Monitoring Program, a representative from the Town’s Conservation Advisory Committee and the new director of the Hudson River Watershed Alliance (HRWA). The meeting focused on getting back to business and post‐Covid reorganization, with discussion of past work such as the amphibians project, field trips and water sampling, and talk of future opportunities and priorities. The group is looking for a fiscal sponsor so it can develop into a 501©3 (a formal not‐for‐profit) that would be eligible for grant funding. It would also like to increase its awareness/visibility and would like to have links for the group’s webpage on the Village & Town websites.
The next SWC meeting is scheduled for June 20[th] and will be on Zoom.
