  • a. There were no RHT – ZRC Meetings held during the month of February, 2023.

Community Preservation Fund (CPF) Advisory Board – Monthly Report February, 2023 – Brent Kovalchik – RH Village Representative/Member

  • a. A CPF Advisory Board Meeting was held on February 16, 2023 in the Red Hook Town Hall to review the application for RH Town funding from RTC Farm Lane (aka locally as the Cookingham Farm – East of Route 9). Items included:

    • Review aerial photographs, agricultural soils on the subject property and the CPF Project Plan/parcel list. Nine parcels are noted in the application, including:

      • 3 of the 4 larger parcels (#564993 (5 acres)), (#620835 (12+ acres)), and (#68083 (3.9 acres)) are located in the Village of Red Hook and listed in the CPF Project Plan. Parcel #564933, while not acknowledged in the Project Plan, maintains high agricultural scores due to the presence of prime agricultural soils, is part of NYS Agricultural District 20 and an operating farm.

      • Parcel #795956 (37+ acres) is in the Town of Red Hook and listed number one in Group One of the CPF Project Plan with the highest conservation score.

      • Discussions included issues for the Village including the potential for future growth and the value of the gateway. The Advisory Board encourages the Town and Village Boards to collaborate on a plan that fosters appropriate growth on the land adjacent to the Village and not included in the conservation easement.

      • The approximate cost to fund the conservation easement only is $900,000.00 which will come from the Community Preservation Fund.

  • b. The current balance of the Community Preservation Fund, as of February 28, 2023, is $3,544,407.60.

Northern Dutchess Alliance (NDA) Executive Committee – Monthly Report February, 2023 – Brent Kovalchik – Local Government Representative/Member

  • a. There were no NDA Executive Committee Meetings held during the month of February, 2023.

Village of Red Hook Public Spaces Initiative (PSI) – Monthly Report February, 2023 – Declan Dwyer-McNulty and Brent Kovalchik – Co-Liaisons

  • a. There were no PSI Meetings held during the month of February, 2023.

  • b. Ash Bradley-Rickard and Brent Kovalchik met on February 24, 2023 in the Red Hook Village Building to review and discuss a grant opportunity for Pollinator Pathway Groups involving both the Village Public Spaces Initiative and the Village Green Committee. The possible grant award of $3,000.00 is to be used for habitat restoration. The grant, sponsored by “One Tree Planted,” will support a range of activities, including tree planting and pollinator gardens for environmental restoration. Ash Bradley-Rickard is preparing the application due on February 28, 2023.
