the active, vibrant village center includes both large volumes of vehicle traffic and pedestrian traffic at the intersection of Rt 9 and Rt 199
the NYS DOT owns and controls the traffic light and timing/phase control mechanisms at the intersection and designs the patterns to regulate vehicle and pedestrian flow
there is a need to have the most current program and phase control available so traffic and pedestrians can move as freely as possible
there appears to be inconsistent phase control and resulting vehicle traffic delays at the computer sensor controlled intersection

the Village Board of the Village of Red Hook asks that NYS DOT re-examine traffic flow both on site and with any technical means (modem) to bring the traffic control up to the most current and efficient software and hardware options.
