RESOLVED
- the Town Board of the Town of Red Hook hereby requests that the Commissioner of the Dutchess County Department of Public Works take all steps necessary to provide for the reduction of the speed limit on County 103/River Road from 4/10 of a mile south of the Annandale Road triangle near Bard College to the Town line from 35 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour.

- WHEREAS, the Town of Red Hook has noted the need for modification of the speed limit on County 103/River Road from the Annandale Road triangle near Bard College south to the Town line, taking into account the residential nature of the area served; the proximity of Bard College; the intense pedestrian and bicycle shared use of the roadway; the need for safe pedestrian and bicycle access to Montgomery Place and Poet's Walk Park; and the emphasis in the Town's Comprehensive Plan, Open Space Plan and Trail Plan on creating pedestrian and bicycle friendly routes
- WHEREAS, NYS DOT is proposing to incorporate traffic calming measures along County 103/River Road from the Annandale Road triangle near Bard College to the Town line in order to accommodate pedestrians and bicycles, in preparation for the inclusion of such portion of River Road in the Empire State Trail network
