RESOLVED
- that the Town Board of the Town of Red Hook hereby determines that the proposed action is a Type I action.
- that the Town Board hereby declares itself Lead Agency for the review of this action, as it is the only involved agency.
- the Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor to discharge any other SEQR responsibilities as are required by 6 NYCRR 617 in this regard.
Show preamble — 4 WHEREAS clauses
- WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Red Hook is considering the potential purchase of lands in fee, purchase of a conservation easement, and purchase of trail easements with respect to portions of certain parcels of property located west of County Rt. 103 (River Road), using funds from the Red Hook Community Preservation Fund. The purpose of the acquisition is to acquire waterfront lands for future recreation purposes and preservation of wetlands and shoreline areas, acquire interests in property for preservation of viewshed, and acquire public access easements for trails access and future trail connections. The acquisitions provide community benefits including ecological, economic, and aesthetic benefits to the community as described more fully in Attachment F to this Part 1 EAF. If the acquisitions move forward, the next step will be preparation of plans for further consideration by the Town Board including additional SEQR review.
- WHEREAS, there has been prepared and submitted to the Town an Environmental Assessment Form (EAF) for the action dated November 20, 2023
- WHEREAS, the Board has reviewed the thresholds for Type I and Type II actions set forth in 6 NYCRR 617.4 and 617.5
- WHEREAS, after examining the EAF, the Town Board has determined that there are no other involved and/or federal agencies on this matter
