RESOLVED

  1. The Town Board hereby authorizes the imposition of a fee of $2.00 for the additional mailed notice provided for in Section 987 of the Real Property Tax Law.
  2. The officers, employees and agents of the Town are hereby authorized and directed for and in the name and on behalf of the Town to do all acts and things as may be necessary or, in the opinion of the officer, employee or agent acting, desirable and proper to effect the purposes of the foregoing resolution.
  3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

  • WHEREAS, pursuant to Real Property Tax Law Section 987 entitled Notice of Unpaid Taxes, following the expiration of the period during which taxes may be paid without interest, the Town's tax collection officer is required to send an additional mailed notice for properties with respect to which taxes remain unpaid
  • WHEREAS, due to increasing costs including postage rates, it is necessary to increase the additional penalty charged against such parcels from $1.00 to $2.00 as permitted by RPTL Section 987
