  1. The Town Board hereby adopts a negative declaration in the form attached and determines that the proposed action will not result in any significant adverse environmental impacts and that a Draft Environmental Impact Statement will not be prepared

Show preamble — 5 WHEREAS clauses
  • WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Red Hook is considering a project to replace the existing functionally deficient bridge that carries Saw Kill Road (also known as Aspinwall Road) over the Saw Kill Creek. The 29-foot span existing bridge was constructed in 1930 and is nearing the end of its service life. This project will include a full bridge replacement of the existing bridge with a new longer span which improves the hydraulic capacity and provides the load rating to meet the NYSDOT standards of HL-93. The proposed bridge would be a 42-foot span, 26-foot wide, three-sided precast concrete structure
  • WHEREAS, on July 30, 2024, the Town Board classified this project as an unlisted action and declared themselves as lead agency in a coordinated review, to which no agency has objected
  • WHEREAS, the Town Board has prepared a Short Environmental Assessment Form (EAF) for the proposed action
  • WHEREAS, the Town Board has considered the criteria contained in 6 NYCRR 617.7 and thoroughly analyzed all identified relevant areas of environmental concerns disclosed in the EAF and any comments of involved or interested agencies
  • WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed a draft Negative Declaration setting forth reasons supporting a determination that the proposed action will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment
