RESOLVED
- The Town Board of the Town of Red Hook hereby does approve and endorse the Greenway Land Trail grant application to improve the RBRHT as described herein with a portion of the required cash match up to $3000 to be funded by the Town
- Supervisor Robert McKeon, or in his absence the Deputy Supervisor, is hereby authorized and directed to execute such requests and other documents as may be necessary or convenient in connection with such application
- This resolution shall take effect immediately

- WHEREAS, the Rhinebeck/Red Hook Historic District Bike/Hike Trails (RBRHT) were conceived more than 20 years ago with funding from the Winnakee Land Trust and with cooperation from the Town of Red Hook and Town of Rhinebeck
- WHEREAS, the RBRHT is part of the Hudson River Valley Greenway trail system
- WHEREAS, the existing trail signage has decayed or disappeared, and, importantly, the RBRHT now intersects with the newly constructed and increasingly popular Empire State Trail
- WHEREAS, the Hudson River Valley Greenway Conservancy is offering matching grants for the rehabilitation and improvement of existing Greenway trails, and is expressly looking to connect village centers to the Empire State Trail
- WHEREAS, the Village of Rhinebeck proposes to apply for a grant for the project with an estimated total cost of $40,500; such grant requires the cooperation and financial support of the Village of Rhinebeck, the Town of Rhinebeck and the Town of Red Hook, and it is proposed that the Village of Rhinebeck will administer the grant on behalf of the Towns of Rhinebeck and Red Hook
- WHEREAS, it is proposed that the municipalities would contribute funds in the ratio of 2:2:1 representing the Village of Rhinebeck:Town of Rhinebeck:Town of Red Hook to realize the grant's goals
- WHEREAS, it is proposed that the municipalities provide in-kind labor to realize the grant's goals
- WHEREAS, this action has been found to be a Type 2 action under SEQRA as replacement in kind
- WHEREAS, the grant application is to be submitted contingent upon the three municipalities entering into a memorandum of understanding upon the awarding of the grant
