RESOLVED

  1. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor or, in his absence, the Deputy Supervisor, to execute and submit the Grant Application.
  2. The officers, employees and agents of the Town are hereby authorized and directed for and in the name and on behalf of the Town to do all acts and things as may be necessary or, in the opinion of the officer, employee or agent acting, desirable and proper to effect the purposes of the foregoing resolution.
  3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

  • WHEREAS, the Town of Red Hook ("Town") desires to apply for assistance through the New York State Parks grant program, which is a statewide grant program designed for the acquisition, development and planning of parks and recreational facilities to preserve, rehabilitate or restore lands, waters or structures for park, recreation or conservation purposes
  • WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Town to submit a New York State Parks Grant application for the construction of a pedestrian bridge over the Sawkill Creek between the Recreation Park and the Cookingham West trails ("Grant Application")
  • WHEREAS, the proposed project would provide a trail up to 10 feet wide with stone dust paths, a wooden boardwalk with guardrail, and steel bridge crossing, to improve trail connectivity within the Town and provide a safer link to Town and Village trails
  • WHEREAS, the maximum amount of the Grant Application to be applied for is $500,000, subject to a 50% match, for an estimated total project cost of up to $1,000,000
