  1. a public hearing shall be held on September 9, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. to consider the Town's sponsorship of the Purchase of Development Rights application for Northwinds Farm
Show preamble — 4 WHEREAS clauses
  • WHEREAS, the Town of Red Hook has been approached regarding sponsoring an application to New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets for Purchase of Development Rights funding for Northwinds Farm, located on the north side of West Kerley Corners Road in Red Hook
  • WHEREAS, Northwinds Farm is a viable working farm with prime and statewide important farmland soils that meets the criteria for New York State's Farmland Protection Program, which provides 75% matching funds for the cost of purchasing development rights
  • WHEREAS, the Dutchess Land Conservancy has offered to assist in preparing the application, with the State deadline for submission being September 15, 2008
  • WHEREAS, the Town's Farmland Protection Committee and Agricultural & Open Space Committee have reviewed and support this project
