RESOLVED
- the Town Board of the Town of Red Hook hereby requests that Commissioner of the Dutchess County Department of Public Works and the New York State Department of Transportation take all steps necessary to provide for the establishment of a school zone speed limit on Rockefeller Lane in the vicinity of Mill Road Elementary School at 25 miles per hour or such lesser limit as safety may require.

- WHEREAS, the Town of Red Hook has noted that the speed limit on Rockefeller Lane in the vicinity of Mill Road Elementary School is an inappropriate speed limit of 45 mph
- WHEREAS, based on input from area residents and conditions in the area of the school, the Town Board has noted that a reduced school zone speed limit of 15 to 25 mph should be established on Rockefeller Lane between Mill Road and a point approximately 300 feet from the easterly school property line
- WHEREAS, the safety of the children, families and residents using the school facilities for school activities, playgrounds, after school and community activities, is predicated upon the ability of those individuals to utilize the roadways for walking, driving, and biking
- WHEREAS, the Town recommends that NYSDOT study the need and benefit of estimated school zone speed limit at 25 mph or whatever lesser limit safety would require
