RESOLVED

  1. The Town Board of the Town of Red Hook shall hold a public hearing on December 10, 2024, at 8:20 p.m. to hear all interested parties on said Proposed Local Law and at which time and place the Town Board may determine whether to adopt the proposed local law; and
  2. The Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice of said public hearing in the Poughkeepsie Journal, the official newspaper of said Town, on or before December 5, 2024, which is not less than five calendar days prior to the date of said public hearing.

  • WHEREAS, a proposed form of Local Law entitled "LOCAL LAW NO. E (PROPOSED) OF 2024; A local law amending the Town Code Chapter 53 entitled "Cannabis" adding a new Article II entitled "Regulation of Retail Dispensaries and adding a new Article III entitled "Regulation of Smoking and Vaping" (the "Proposed Local Law") has been submitted to the Town Board of the Town of Red Hook; and
  • WHEREAS, the amendments are designed to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Town residents from second-hand smoke and vapor in public spaces to help role model non-smoking behavior to children and youth; to provide children, youth and their families with a safe, smoke-free environment;
  • WHEREAS, the proposed action is a Type II action as routine or continuing agency administration, and there are no other involved agencies; and
