RESOLVED

  1. The Town Board of the Town of Red Hook does hereby authorize the Highway Superintendent to accept the foregoing bids and to purchase blacktop material (hot mix asphalt) as needed from time to time for general highway maintenance purposes at said FOB prices set forth in the attached tabulation for Dense Base, Dense Binder, and Shim from A. Colarusso and Son, Inc. and Top ½ and Top ¼ (Armor Coat) from Callanan Industries, Inc. for the 2020 calendar year, within applicable budgetary authority.

  • WHEREAS, sealed bids for various grades of blacktop (hot mix asphalt) for 2020 were publicly opened and read on October 24, 2019 after due notice pursuant to Section 103 of the General Municipal Law, with bids being received from A. Colarusso and Son, Inc., Callanan Industries, Inc. and Peckham Industries, Inc., as shown on the attached bid tabulation
  • WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has determined that, after taking into account the location and FOB price of the product with the quantities anticipated to be needed for the calendar year 2020, the bid of A. Colarusso and Son, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid for Item 1 Dense Base, Item 3 Dense Binder, and Item 5 Shim, and the bid of Callanan Industries, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid for Item 6F Top ½ and Item 7F Top ¼ (Armor Coat), as set forth on such bid tabulation
  • WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has determined that each such bid is not in excess of the available contract price for such materials though the State Office of General Services
  • WHEREAS, the Town Highway Superintendent has recommended award of the bids to each such bidder
