Village of Red Hook, NY Seasonal Services Update

Spring 2026_

TIME FOR SPRING CLEANING!

There is a statewide residential Burn Ban in Effect: ban on burning brush in effect from March 16th thru May 14th to prevent wildfires and protect our community. Backyard fire pits and campfires less than three feet in height and four feet in length, width, or diameter are allowed, as are small cooking fires. Only charcoal or dry, clean, untreated, or unpainted wood can be burned. People should never leave these fires unattended and must extinguish them.

Leaf Pickup: There will be a one-time leaf pickup the week of April 6th to collect those leaves you missed in the Fall. Please place any leaves in a row at your lawn’s edge. DO NOT mix brush or other yard waste in with the leaves. Reminder: NO BURNING OF LEAVES.

This Village

service will begin again the week of April 6th. Brush pickup will continue ONCE A MONTH during the frst full week of each month through November. Please limit your brush to ONE pile per house of brush from your yard. Branches or tree limbs no greater than 6” in diameter & 6’ in length.. No building materials or construction debris. Place in piles or clean garbage cans at the end of your yards, not on the road or sidewalks.
