The Village Green Committee met during the month of January. This was the beginning of a re-organization. They discussed the fall planting – lessons learned and how to move forward - and prep for the upcoming Spring Planting. Discussed the role of the VGC and how to imagine the community interacting with us and decided beyond tree planting education would be the focus this year and moving forward.
They discussed a formal change to our meeting schedule to better accommodate end of year schedules and the annual crunch time. The VGC is actively looking for new members to join if you or anyone you know enjoys learning about trees, nature and wants to help beautify the Village please contact us.
Residents and businesses interested in having a tree(s) planted on their adjacent Village street or NYS highway right-of-way’s, volunteering for planting days, or sponsoring a VGC beautification project, may contact David Pearson, myself, Kym Bradley-Rickard, or the Jen Cavanaugh- Village Clerk.
The Village Green has started to plan the Spring Arbor Day Celebration and Tree planting. The planting will be held in early spring. Tree selection options will be available prior.
Meetings are open to the public and we are actively seeking members of our community to join the committee. Our next scheduled meeting is the second Sunday of January (12 April 2024).
