Abolition of Office of Village Justice
The Office of Village Justice, together with the Acting Village Justice, Court Clerk, and all supportive services, is abolished upon the expiration of the current term ending April 5, 2027, pursuant to Village Law §3-301(2)(a). This resolution was adopted subject to permissive referendum and becomes effective upon expiration of the referendum period or upon a referendum vote supporting abolition. The Village Board found that the Town Court can effectively handle prosecution of Village Code violations and related matters.[4]

GovPayNet Online Payment Authorization
The Village Justice Court is authorized to utilize GovPayNet (Government Payment Services, Inc.), a web-based third-party payment service, enabling defendants to pay court fines online. The system does not tie into any Village software, creates no cost or liability to the Village, and fees are incurred solely by the defendant. Authorization is contingent upon counsel approval of the participation agreement.[2]
