Pro-Housing Communities Pledge Adoption
The Village of Red Hook adopted the Pro-Housing Communities Pledge on February 12, 2024, committing to take positive steps to alleviate the housing crisis at regional and local levels. The Village affirms that every community must contribute to housing growth and benefit from the positive impacts a healthy housing market brings.[2]

Think Differently Initiative Adoption
The Village of Red Hook residents and business owners adopted the Think Differently initiative on September 12, 2016, to promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion of individuals living on the Autism Spectrum and with special needs. The initiative aims to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals of all abilities by supporting community events that expand family-friendly opportunities for people with special needs and their families.[1]
Think Differently — Business and Community Engagement
Under the Think Differently initiative, the Village encourages and educates community members and businesses on ways to make facilities and services more accessible and on how to train staff to welcome and support special needs customers and co-workers. The initiative also promotes guidance to those with special needs on how to access publicly supported services available in the community.[1]
