RESOLVED

  1. The Village of Red Hook is authorized to prepare a joint application for a Local Government Efficiency Grant To Study Shared Highway Services, to be submitted to the Department of State for the purposes of exploring the options of shared or consolidated highway services. The Town and Village will work cooperatively to apply for a Local Government Efficiency Grant to study current budgets and needs to establish the effectiveness of a shared facility, shared equipment and shared staff
  2. The Town of Red Hook shall be the lead applicant and the Village of Red Hook shall be the co-applicant, understanding the lead applicant shall have the authority to enter into contracts and execute financial and administrative processes related to the grant application and the study with the concurrence of the Village, all as more specifically set forth in the intermunicipal agreement described herein
  3. The total study budget shall be $35,000, to be shared evenly ($17,500) by the Town and the Village. The Town is authorized to apply for a grant from the Department of State in the amount of 90% of the project cost ($31,500)
  4. The Town shall be responsible for 10% of the Town portion of the study amount ($1,750) and the Village shall be responsible for 10% of the Village portion of the study amount ($1,750), and upon further determination to undertake implementation, each would be responsible for 10% of their portion of the implementation amount
  5. The Town and Village will prepare an intermunicipal agreement to jointly undertake the study described in this resolution and the application, and will work together to provide financial and planning data to facilitate the study
  6. Town Supervisor Sue T. Crane shall be the lead contact person for the grant application. For purposes of the grant application and study, the authorized Village contact shall be Mayor Ed Blundell. Supervisor Crane, or in her absence Deputy Supervisor James Ross, is hereby authorized and directed to execute and submit the application for the Local Government Efficiency Grant to Study Highway Shared Services.

  • WHEREAS, the Village of Red Hook is interested in examining the option of shared highway services and facilities with the Town of Red Hook for the purpose of more efficient operation and savings to taxpayers and shall be co-applicants for this application
