Inter-municipal Agreement – Town of Red Hook and Village of Red Hook – Regarding Municipal Shared Services – Highway and Public Works

Resolution #35-2019 — 2019-08-12

WHEREAS

  • the Village of Red Hook and the Town of Red Hook often work with routine shared services arrangements for ad hoc needs in order to best utilize equipment, vehicles and staff
  • the two municipalities agree that this is an important factor for effective and efficient staff management and cost containment
  • certain highway material purchases and fuel purchases are already shared under NY State Contract with the Town being the purchaser
  • no formal agreement exists to document the relationship, other than regarding use and sharing of the highway garage complex
  • the Village Board recognizes the benefits of continued cooperation and use of shared services with the Town

RESOLVED

  • the Mayor is authorized to sign the Inter-municipal Agreement – Regarding Municipal Shared Services – Highway Department and Public Works. However, each case or instance of shared services will be reviewed by the Mayor and/or the Highway Foreman for feasibility and scheduling before approval
