RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF JENNIFER CAVANAUGH TO POSITION OF VILLAGE CLERK

Resolution #3-2022 — 2022-01-10

WHEREAS

  • the Village of Red Hook Board is authorized pursuant to Section 3-300 of the New York Village Law to appoint a qualified person to the position of Village Clerk to fill a vacancy
  • Section 3-300(1) of the New York Village Law provides that elected and appointed village officers must be village residents to be eligible to serve in that capacity
  • Section 3-300(2)(a) of the New York Village Law provides that the Village Board of Trustees may, by resolution, provide for modification of the residency requirements to all appointed officers to include residency within the county in which the Village is located

RESOLVED

  • Jennifer Cavanaugh is hereby appointed to the position of Village Clerk for the applicable term as provided by law
  • Pursuant to Section 3-300(2)(a) of the New York Village Law, Jennifer Cavanaugh need not reside in the Village of Red Hook, but may reside anywhere in the County of Dutchess, State of New York
  • This resolution shall take effect immediately
