Present ~ Mayor Blundell, DM Kova Ichick, Trustees C. Laing, W. Noonan and J. Norris for last time.
1, DM Kovalchick starting off with possibility of a securing a Hardship Loan with 0% interest. Business as usual and where we stand with the sewer bids. USDA has concerns about environmental impact with the sewer project. Obtaining $ 210,000.00 from ARP. We are in a 75 day time frame. We have 45 days to accept bid and we asked contractors for additional 30 days. May 10" is when we technically run out of working time. Still working on the Bond Resolution. EFC subsidized financing at % the current market bond rate. Let it be known that Mayor Blundell had a special meeting with congressman Delgado on 3/25/21 and he is using his contacts in Washington. Also congressman Delagado letting the Mayor know that ARP rescue plan that the Feds are in line to get 210-220 thousand dollars over a two year period. Pro- rated value by population . Looking for more help from County Executive Marcus Molinaro.
2, Coming up, April 12 meeting will be discussing that many years ago we decided to share services with the County some of the tax cap rules and police training for crisis intervention (CIT/BEAT) to bring in counselors to help the police with the negative impact of mental health that the police encounter. So the mayor put to a vote the need for the police to get the paid training for Cit-Beat training for another year, 2021. Mayor motioned yes, seconded by trustee Noonan and trustee Laing followed by a yes for Trustee Norris and also DM Kovichick. Possible training for Trustees as well.
3, New Police Vehicle. The old Chevy Tahoe Police vehicle’s engine seized. Repair cost is $4,500.00 plus labor for an 11 year old vehicle but there is also the option of purchasing a new 2021 Ford F-150 Pickup truck for $45,000.00 that can fill in in a number of ways if necessary. All this being with the help of a loan from Salisbury bank and a5 year note. $12,000.00 in the police fund could be a good start but no bond or resolution for borrowing the money yet. Can the old vehicle be sold? A letter of intent to the Ford dealer as of now. Mayor motioned to second the amendment to havea letter of intent sent to Ford dealership, DM Kovalchick seconded it, Trustee Noonan, Trustee Laing and Trustee Norris all in favor and said yes.
