Village of Red Hook Red Hook Infrastructure – Sewer Project Monthly Report April 2023

1. Red Hook Sewer Project

Substantial Completion was achieved on March 30, 2023. Restoration & Punch List remained to be completed prior to Final Completion being achieved.

Progress meeting #34 was held on April 14, 2023, in the Red Hook Village

Building and via telephone conference call. Carver Construction (A.G. Bourgeois & Eric Klefbeck), C3ND (Fernando Dongo), and the Village of Red Hook (Karen Smythe) attended. Items discussed included:

  • Tasks Completed Since March 24, 2023:

    • Replacement tank set at 16 East Market (Delaware Engineering).

    • Eric to confirm if tank at 47 East Market is complete – vault needed to be replaced with correct size.

    • All tanks are up and running – except at the Soap Factory

    • Top soil placed throughout the Village. St. Paul’s Church remaining – should be complete today.

    • Top soil complaints from first batch of top soil – have gone back and added better top soil

    • Seed subcontractor started today (April 14).

    • Blacktop prep started yesterday (April 13).

    • Bollards installed around the UV unit, generator propane tank, and blowers at WWTP.

    • Transfer switch installed at the WWTP.

  • Tasks Scheduled:

Carver Construction – General Contractor:

  • Placing Blacktop to start Monday if no rain. Blacktopping should take @ 2 weeks.

  • Seed subcontractor should take 3-4 days. They started 4/14.

  • Redo sidewalks – 6 locations. Next week or after paving.

  • Sausto – Electrical Contractor:

  • Canopy structure over electric panel at WWTP

  • Confirm 7545 N Broadway house wiring has been changed from 10 gauge to 8 gauge.

  • Items Needed From Contractors:

Carver Construction – General Contractor:

  • As-Builts – Carver to send first sheet to C.T. Male mid next week for approval. Once ok’d, should take @ 1 week.

    • Orenco Training – to be scheduled.

    • Confirm all “Water” caps have been changed to “Sewer” caps.

  • Items Needed From C.T. Male:

    • None mentioned.
  • Application For Payment Status

  • Erosion/Sediment Control

    • Restorations in process which will close out any open graded areas.
  • Site Safety

    • No issues noted this period.
  • RFIs

    • No open RFI’s mentioned.
  • Open Discussion

    • Soap Factory tank needs to be resolved.

    • Firehouse Plaza – Carver to do paving per contract. Manhole cover needs to be lowered.

    • Underground Fuel Tank – stockpiled excavated soils – comments received yesterday by Carver. After reviewing, Carver will update via email. If all okay, soil to be removed.

    • USDA Jessica DiDomineck made a Substantial Completion site visit on Monday, April 10 as scheduled. Mayor Smythe toured her around. She was able to obtain the photos needed from her visit.

    • Fernando asked about the Village’s security alarm system for the generators. He will follow up with Vector Security to schedule a site visit to finalize hook up of new generator alarm system.

  • Open/Incomplete Items

    • Final restoration/paving/sidewalk replacement.

    • 7545 N Broadway – 10 gauge changed to 8 gauge.

    • Canopy structure on top of main panel board.

    • Soil removal from underground fuel tank work at 17 East Market.

    • Confirm “water” caps are all replaced with “sewer” caps.

    • Schedule Orenco training.

    • Confirm status and resolution for Soap Factory tank.
